Bad luck in the Grand Prix for Patrick and Whitney, one fault in the first round.

It’s a shame not one Belgian rider succeeded to go through to the jump off of the Grand Prix in Linz.
Patrick and Whitney got one fault in the first round, which is not a bad result. Also Aluna (Niels Bruynseels) and Utopia (Pieter Devos) showed their form, but also they had to deal with some bad luck. Only one rider remained clear in the jump-off, Stein Endresen. And so the victory went to Norway. On Saturday it was the “Championat of Linz “. It was a really big task for Cyber Vrijhern, who stayed clear until the second last jump. The points were given and after 1 fault and a circle on the last fence they ended with 10 points.
A good thing to remember is that our ‘Cieberke’ got a lot of courage to jump those big classes in a very good way.
Pieter Devos did it very well and ended on the second place.
Quilaja v St Maarten (Kannan) is very competitive, that we were able to see already in the Grand Prix of Antwerp. Only Thomas Fruhmann Pieter had to let go before him. The mission of the Belgian riders in Linz was certainly already accomplished with a good performance in the Nations Cup.
Since last week we also knew that Patrick has to go for his second Nations Cup in Sopot, the second week of June. Another Belgian team will go that same weekend to ride the Nations Cup of Lisbon.
The Belgian riders have a mission. Try to be back next year at the highest level in the sport.
Also Patrick gave himself an extra assignment. He really wants to get this year in the top 100 on the FEI ranking. His best ranking number ever was 101, for the moment his position is on number 111.
To achieve this mission we made an extra effort. More about this in a few days…
We already are going to try to get some more FEI points next weekend in France. Whitney stays at home and Wrangler and Va-Vite take over.
They will be heading to the CSI*** of Bethune.
Also our nephew Jeroen De Winter is aiming to get on higher level in the sport. He will be participating at the international show competition for the Youth in Bonheiden.
Jeroen is counting for that on Flor and Bolero.
He can count on us to cheer for him!

If you participate at a higher level, it’s not always that simple.
After several disappointing performances, we have suffered ourselves.
Patrick’s courage was hard to find but the encouraging words of Joe Clee made us think "The highs are really high, and the lows make you a man.
Also Marc Van Dyck gave some useful advice, which certainly contributed to the clear round in the Nations Cup.
Show jumping an individual sport? I don’t think so!
Keep that in mind! Also Kelly Janssens can keep these words in mind. She missed the final of the Ladies Championship but a very good result in the consolation round,
3rd place with Trinity and a 5th place with Viking!
Brand new champion for the Ladies became Kirsten Rombouts, Congratulations!
The victory in the Grand Prix of the Gold League in Herselt went to Jules Van Roosbroeck and Cabriolet Z! Jules is back after weeks of injury, and that we were all able to see! Congratulations, Jules and Cabriolet Z!
