Eric Navet wins the GP of Béthune, Va-Vite is letting us hope for more….

In Béthune you could find some top riders … The results in the Grand Prix were a perfect display, victory for Eric Navet, 2nd place for Nicolas Delmotte, and 3th place the one and only Michael Withaker.
After a convincing clear round of Niels Bruynseels (NASA), Philippe Lejeune (Boyante the Muze) and Gregory Wathelet (Copin vd Broye), we ended with 3 Belgian riders in the jump off. All 3 of them got one fault and because of that they all fell out the top 8 of the Grand Prix.
Va-Vite is really starting to feel good in these 1m50 classes. He jumped the Grand prix with a lot of confidence and showed his scoop as well in the triple combination. They ended with 8 points towards the end of the course, one time the distance came a bit too close and on the last fence the 2nd fault felt.
Overall, the Belgian riders did some good things, also José Thiry with Sherlcok.
With one fault in the 1st round they had reason enough to be pleased about it.
Also Wrangler showed what he can do best on Sunday and they did it fast and clear. But if you think that you’re fast in France then you might just make it into the prices. Fast is not fast enough and so we ended on a 5th place.

Next weekend the other horses get a chance to show themselves. We’re heading towards the Champi Jumping in Wiekevorst. In the 6 years, Patrik will be riding Etoile, Lady Mc Beth and Uriano. On Saturday and Sunday will be jumping Coco Chanel, Wereld Star and Discovery S in the 1m25 classes. Also Ivan Dalton will be competing with Fiko R (Darco), Cashmira (Cento Lano), Trinity (Diamant de Semilly) and Callide (Carpaccio).
Last weekend Jordy Oostvogels won the 1m25 class with Amaryllis Dwerse Hagen in Wemmel (Jochri’s Club). Jordy will be heading towards Moerzeke this weekend.
And so, all the riders will be staying close to home this weekend.
Calm before the storm, because there will return some busy times very soon.
The weekend of 4–6 June we go to Bourg-en–Bresse (France), from 10-13 June we go to Sopot (Polen) and from 17-20 June we’re hoping to go to Lons-Le-Saunier. Only for that last one we still need ‘a go’ from our chef d’équipe, Philippe Guerdat.
Then Va-Vite can come in action again. Like he jumped this weekend makes us hope for more… Last weekend the chef d’équipe discovered some Belgian talent, what will be needed now that one of the most valued riders, Dirk Demeersman, will be out of competition for a while because he broke his hand…. Not good! We hope he’ll recover quickly!
