Between Belgium and Italy? Belgian team 4th in Nations Cup Lisbon.

Patrik was at the Champi show in Wiekevorst with the less experienced horses. A beautiful organisation and many participants. A more then deserved champion Jul Wellens (children) and a 3rd place for Ivan Dalton with Cashmira DH Z in the 1.25m Grand Prix from the VOR.
Also Patrik was in de jump off with Discovery (Nabab x Heartbreaker) and Centro Z (v. Cento Lano). But we also followed the Nations Cup in Lisbon, where the Belgian riders have done some good things. With 12 faults out of the two rounds they did a great job.
The Nations Cups are particularly important so that we get a chance again next year to be in the Top Series. It’s becoming clear that it will go between Belgium and Italy. The Italians were 3rd yesterday, and they won the Nations Cup in Athens the weekend that the Belgian team was 3rd in Linz. In Athens there were not so many participants, and this makes a difference for the points, but it’s still very exciting.
The country that’s not in the Top Series for the moment and finishes the highest in the promotional series, may participate again next year at the Top Series.
And then the country that wins the Nations Cup in September in Barcelona can join as second country the Top Series.
Better not to bet on one horse and just try to get higher up by winning the series. The next show in this series is the Nations Cup in Sopot (10 till 13 June).
Goes to Poland: Marc Van Dijck, Lieven Devos, Wilm Vermeir and Patrik Spits.
Very nice that we can join the team again and we’re hoping for a good result. This weekend we’ll have a rehearsal at the show in Bourg-en-Bresse.
It may even be mentioned a bit more then just ‘a rehearsal’ because a lot of money and rankings points to earn at this nice 4-star competition.
Goes with to Bourg-en-Bresse: Whitney vd Dwerse Hagen, Wrangler vd Withoeve, Centro Z and for the young horses Etoile M.
