There will certainly be disappointment by Jeroen Appelen when he saw on the equibel site that he wasn’t standing as nominative. But Jeroen didn’t sit still he chose to not ride the Belgium Championship of the Young Riders and start straight away to continue the sport as a senior rider. And he keeps on making it difficult for the senior riders. Like this weekend in Hulsterlo at the Belgium Cup. Today Jeroen won the first round before Guy Janssens. And we like it like that! Not screaming out loud but show them the answer in the ring! On Saturday the second round will be ridden. The final of the Belgium Cup for seniors will be on Sunday afternoon with the best 35 riders over all. Everybody will be starting again with 0 points. Of course we want to send all the best of luck to the selected juniors and young riders for the Europeans and hopefully the Belgian team will do some good performances. These Europeans will take place in Jardy from the 13 until 18 of July.
This weekend also the Belgium Cup for the students ands ponies. Also like in Hulsterlo they start in Bruges with 0 points. For that we’re looking forward to the results of another Jeroen, our nephew Jeroen De Winter. They already had there second round and tomorrow, Saturday, they can have a day of rest.

There’s already been a lot of hazel about the selections for the European Championships of the juniors, young riders and children, which soon will be starting in Jardy, France. We are a little bit too far away to know what is or is not correct or misplaced. In any case, it seems rather odd that a rider as Jeroen Appelen was not selected for these European Championships as a young rider.
