The Belgians are really fast; Small Grand Prix for Frederick Cattebeke; Grand Prix for Niels Bruynseels!

At the show in Bonheiden some big names were participating there, also young talent that wants to prove themselves. There were some competitors from in and outside of the country. To name them; Lauren Hough with Quick Study was one of the biggest concurrent in the small Grand Prix of Bonheiden. She also won early this year the Grand Prix of Hamburg.
In the jump off of the Grand Prix we saw Samantha McIntosh with Tristan. That Tristan was jumping in Aken a clear round in the Nations Cup (USA).
There’s not only talent from outside of the country because two of the FEI ranking classes were won by Belgians.
On Saturday the victory was for Frederick Cattebeke in a super fast jump off. Jérome Guéry came really close with Waldo but got second. Also on Sunday Jérome Guéry was in the jump off, again really fast, but he ended up 4th. Eiken Sato went even quicker with B&V Cartoon Z. But today nobody could beat Niels Bruynseels who won for his own public. With the 8 year old Cippolini vt Gasthof (v. Darco) he became the deserved winner of the Grand Prix of Bonheiden. The Mexican rider Jaime Guerra came really close to the time of Niels but he ended up 2nd, between Niels and Eiken Sato.
Ourselves we were very happy with the result of Joe Clee and the 7 year old Dollar van ‘t Eigenlo. In the Grand Prix they finished with 4 points, but he jumped unbelievable. Patrick and Wrangler had 8 points and 4 points in the small Grand Prix. Ambassador showed a really good performance again and he ended up 3rd in the 1m30 class on Sunday.
Dollar had a good start in his début in jumping Grand Prix’s. But now we pull the breaks again because Dollar can let himself feel young again. His next important show is the World Championships for 7 year old horses in Zangersheide. As Belgian Champion by the 7 year old horses he’s already in! This week in Gesves there will be ridden for those starting places. By the 7 year olds the prices are already been given. For the 4-5-6 year olds it all still has to start this week at the Belgian Championships for young horses in Gesves.
The horses who’re on the stage from the 5-6 year olds of the Belgian Championship are immediately qualified to jump as well at the World Championships in Lanaken.
We’ve got 4 of them in the battle, by the 6 year olds Patrick is riding Uletta and Lady McBeth. Caroline De Laet is riding Elixir in the 6 year olds and by the 5 year olds we’re looking forward to the performances of Forcade de Brume.
The show in Gesves starts on Tuesday the 10 of August with the final on Sunday the 15 of August.
