Joy and sadness at the Zuuthoeve, Goodbyes from René Vets..
Excenel (v. Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) wrote some history on Sunday. He belongs to the élite by the 4 year old horses and won the Belgian Championships by the 5 year old horses.2 days ago was Excenel back in the front row and he won the title by the 6 year old horses. So unique! Last year René Vets was still honoured by the BWP Auction Antwerp as the discoverer of Excenel at the auction for foals!
René doesn’t miss one show! But this year he couldn’t be there in Gesves. His health didn’t let him. We’ve got the sad news that René passed away today!
A big man, a big los! With a lot of passion for horses and for the horse sport was he the one that made the Zuuthoeve what it is today!
Is not been for nothing though because granddaughter Tina is possessed by the horses. We wish the family a lot of strength in these difficult times!
The picture is been taken at the WEN in 2010. At that time René was already fighting against his sickness, a difficult battle that he didn’t win in the end! We’re happy to have known René always very happy, we’ll miss him!
