Patrick and Withney go with to the final of the Belgian Championships.
It’s been a few years that you could only have 8 points to go to the final of the Belgian Championships.The last few years it was enough to go to the final if you had 12 points but this time not too many faults could been made.
We had with Withney each round one down so 8 points in total. We’re very happy that Withney has managed for the 4th time to make into the final of the Belgian Championships. As an 8 year old she already did it and a year later Sherlock as Withney qualified themselves and then we choose Sherlock to jump in the final. Last year in Kapellen Patrick and Withney had a blanch score to start in the final but we only made it into the top 10 in the end.
This year we start the final without any expectations, but we expect a lot from the Championships overall.
It’s already been very exciting and leader for the minute, Ludo Philippaerts will for sure make it even more exciting.
Tomorrow we’ll know if Ludo can put his 7th title in his pocket and each time with another horse. Amazing!
There’re also some really strong ladies still in the running for being the next Belgian Champion. Annelies Vorselmans did already 2 really nice rounds with Cayak DH. Cayak grow up in our stables till he was 8 years old and it’s nice to see him again. Judy-Ann Melchior is also in very good form. Her top horse Cha Cha Z is already on his way to Kentucky but she still managed to qualify herself with 2 horses and can choose today to ride Carry Z(8 points) or Cold As Ice (5 points). Amazing performance also from Karline De Brabander with Barnako de Muze. Only one fault on the water the first day and one time fault the second round. The way Karline did it was fantastic and very determined and always with a smile.
Also Evelyne Blaton (Haruba) and Gudrun Patteet (Carlino) still make a good chance, they’re both on 4 points. So anything can still happen!
In the Belgian Championships the points of the first round are been taking with to the final. In the final of the young horses every horse starts again on 0 points. They will be for sure fighting in the jump off for the world title. In the Belgian Championships there will only be a jump off between the equal’s to distribute the medals.
