Philippe Lejeune is WORLD CHAMPION!

The final round, we were afraid. Afraid that we were going to be 4th and just miss that medal! The results you’ve seen everywhere! What a relief, what a performance!

Our world champion Philippe Lejeune follows up Jos Lansink. We were with many here and it was too beautiful to be true!

Afterwards there was a big party where we could talk and enjoy every moment again!

The success of Philippe today is the hard work from many years! He always had to do it with little he had and because of that he rode many different horses. These horses didn’t adjust to him but Philippe adjusted him to them. He was telling us that as a 12 year old boy he went for the first time to the show in Brussels with his father. At that time he decided that that was what he wanted to do. He stayed at school for 2 more years and then when he was 14 he had enough and he choice to go for the horses!

He learned a lot from 5 different teachers and his endless respect for horses!

If he could chair his medal today it would be for sure with his sons and particularly his son Thibault because when Philippe didn’t have time it was Thibault who went with Vigo to the coast for a nice big walk in the sea, this made his tendons much stronger!

Thibault did this for a few months and every time again he had the fear to go on the road with such a fund and also the fear to fall of him at the coast!

Anyway it’s been a success that Philippe can still enjoy for a while! The next 4 years he can call himself the world champion! In 2014 the next new WORLD GAMES will have place in Caen (FRANCE).

We hope that Philippe can go and defend his title there. The supporters will be there! Thanks to Cavalor, Peter Bollen and Lieselot Hamerlinck for organising this trip, thanks to the nice group that we spend a lovely week with, thanks to the Belgians horse sport federation and thanks to our Belgian riders’ team! It was amazing!

A few things to remember:

* When we told father Pierre Lejeune after getting the bronze team medal, how exciting it already was, his reaction was: he took his sweater at his belly with his 2 fingers and said that there was still some room….

* Also Albert and Agnes Pfeffer were also there, known from Starhorses and Starmeat. In America they eat a lot of meat and this was also the subject at the table. Somebody said that salami can’t be made from quality meat. Albert Pfeffer reacts on that like a real specialist why he things that that wouldn’t be the case: Because they put meat in from dead animals…did you ever seen salami for animals alive… was his logic answer!

And like this we can still go on for a while… A lot of things will probably forget but will never forget the Belgian bronze team medal and the Belgian gold individual medal!

The final 4 train and work in Brussels and all of them had a Belgian coach in the ring today: Stanny Van Paesschen for Abdullah Al Sharbatly, Gilbert De Roock for Eric Lamaze, Jos Kumps for Rodrigo Pessoa and Dirk Demeersman and chef d’équipe Philippe Guerdat for Philippe Lejeune.

Belgian has been put on the map in America today and we can be very proud!

We hope to expect a lot of supporters at the airport! See you all there!
