Our nephew Jeroen De Winter was honored as most promising youth of the past year. So nice to see but also a perfect opportunity to see the other sports persons in our community. We didn’t even know that the ladies team of basketball in our community play on European level and obtained the Belgian title. They even have an American talent in their team. Jeroen was allowed to stand on the picture with these tall and sportive women. The other prices went all to the same family members. Jan en Hilde Torfs-De Bruyn always gave themselves the example to their 8 kids. Their 22 year old son Sanne Torfs is a very mean full person in the athletic world, and became sport man of the year! One of their daughters became Belgian Champion in aerobics and was chosen by our community as sport woman of the year!
Niels Bruynseels was inspirited by those titles, and went himself on Saturday to the elections of his community in Duffel. He was honored for his title of Belgian Champion. If he would’ve been elected as sport men of the year of Duffel he was going to jump in the fountain. Too bad somebody else took that title. We even promised him to bring the towels….
