In the afternoon, Va-Vite had colic at the showjumping in Gesves. After the veterinary took care of him in Gesves, they went straight to the hospital.
Unter narcosis, the surgeons could resolve the problem. Let's hope there won't be any complications the next days.
We are very hopeful at this moment.
Another amazing story from Patrik in Vimeiro. There were only 40 riders qualified for the Grand Prix. He was number 41...
Half an hour before the start of the Grand Prix, the Belgian rider Michel Blaton decided not to ride the grand prix. So, Patrik had the chance to start in the Grand Prix.
But, which horse? Withney jumped already this morning, and you can't jump twice a day. Sherlock had already jumped 3 times (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). Only Ultra Boy jumped on Thursday and Friday.. But he is only 7 years old..
Patrik was thinking for a while, but he decided to give it a chance with Ultra Boy. He could always abandon, when he would feel that it was too soon to jump these fences.
It was a 1.55m - 1.60m class.
Ultra Boy jumped like he had never done anything else. Amazing. He had one fault on the bidet, jumped a difficult tripple combination without any problems, and he got a second fault on the very last fence..
Ultra Boy can have a few weeks of rest, and he doesn't have to jump these classes before he will have the age of 8 years old. But now, we now already for sure, that we are looking for to it!
We could'nt be too happy today, because we are really concerned about Va-Vite.
Va-Vite and Ultra Boy are both sons of Heartbreaker.
Let's hope we can jump grand prix with Ultra Boy next year, and that we can jump grand prix with Va-Vite in 2010!
