JONSAUNIER, SON OF OUR WITHNEY, Star IN STAR-AUCTION. SOLD FOR 260.000 EUROS.

For a second we damned ourselves this weekend at Azelhof in Lier. Not because we would have sold Jonsaunier too early on our first partyauction in 2010. During that auction in 2012 Albert Peffer bought him as a foal. This year he became the best at the Starauction, where he was sold for 260.000 euros.

You have to allow luck, which we did a few weeks earlier when our foal O’Neill van de Kattenheye was sold at the BWP auction Antwerp. This son of Donckervoort from Freestyle was sold for 5.500 euros. Freestyle herself was bought on the first online auction for less than half the sales amount of the foal she was carrying.

Not only our Withney has still a nice breeding career. Also this Freestyle, cousin of Withey, has the good genes.

Luckara van de Dwerse Hagen, daughter of Freestyle, will be in the auction we organize next month. Like mentioned before Luckara is a daughter of Freestyle and in foal of Jericho Dwerse Hagen.  Jericho and Jonsaunier have the same Sire, Vertigo Saint Benoit. We have definitely not seen all of Jericho, he has great capacities and great power.

We don’t have reason to curse concerning the collection we made, on the contrary..

With big tension we followed the Grand Prix **  Lier where our cousin Jeroen De Winter got 1 error with his horse Gravin van het Netehof, although it was a good round. Also our Uletta Dwerse Hagen (Cento Lano x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) did great with one error and a time penalty. That was probably the last competition of Patrik and “his” Uletta. This because Uletta will also be in our online auction which will end the 12th of November. Patrik was a little bit disappointed because he was so close to an even greater goodbye, but still he was very happy and pleased about everything this horse had meant and did for us.  We enjoyed a lot of nice moments, and on Friday there was almost another international victory in the 1.40m class.  Also happy with that beautiful 2nd place in the 1.40m class, after Catherine van Roosbroeck and Calumet.

The mare Comptesse vd Withoeve (Sheyenne x Wellington) is very interestingly bred. That’s why she has been less intense in the sport but made time for embryo transplantation. Her mother Perla Epona is the half-sister of none other than European Champion Myrtille Paulois (Roger-Yves Bost). This weekend Comptesse competed, and it all went well. She had an unlucky error in the 1.40m class on Saturday night at the CSI ** Lier. Patrik will also has to tell goodbye to this horse probably in November, this of course with mixed feelings because she’s a good one. Comptesse may still participate in the competition next week at CSI** Horses & Friends at the Sentower Opglabeek.

Comptesse will be accompanied by Vichy DH Z (Va-Vite x Jade du Ri d’Asse). This Vichy is a half-sister of Whitney, both daughters of Jade. Vichy has incredible power; she stands as 7 years old at the beginning of a beautiful sports career. Due to circumstances Vichy participated at our CSI *** St-Catherine-Waver in an FEI ranking class. As a 7 year old she did fantastic with one fence on the ground. Also Vichy is part of our selection for the internet auction. Of course we hope that she, and also the 51 other selected horses, may end up in a good place.

For professionals, we recommend not to wait until the last moment to try the horses. From Monday October 27th we will pause our competitions, to be able to help and advice at home in the stable. Feel free to make an appointment by email at kristel@groep-ceulemans.be or by telephone with Patrik Spits on 0032-475 / 46.20.79 or Jef Goossens 0032-499.14.52.83.
