Second day starts well for Belgium

On Saturday the first CSI3* class in the main ring became a complete Belgium affaire. The top three in the Prize Euro Horse, Table A 1m40, were all Belgian riders with Belgian-bred horses. Victory went to Dominique Hendrickx with the nine-year-old gelding Edison (by Winner). Vincent Lambrecht finished runner-up with the 10-year-old stallion Diabeau (by Clinton), who were 1.11 seconds slower. After this class the arena was the stage for the young horses for the Prize Stephex Stables, a Table A Two Phases competition with fences upto 1m20. No less than 56 young horses competed and 26 of them stayed clear. Finally it was Belgium’s Wim Vinckx who collected first prize. He rode the BWP stallion Haides (by Tauber vh Kapelhof). Wilm Vermeir finished in second with the BWP gelding Heaven Hill (by Non Stop). Niels Bruyneels took third with the KWPN mare Casandra (by Casantos).Full results

The last class on this Saturday morning was staged in arena B, the Prize Euromusic (Table A against the clock, 1m35). Here the supremacy of the Belgian riders and horses ended here. Frenchman Mathieu Billot took the victory in this competition with his nine-year-old mare Qokais de l’Hallali (SF, by Quick Star). Only 0.08 seconds separated runner-up Jeroen Appelen with the 16-year-old gelding Uni Stop vh Hoksent (BWP, by Non Stop) from victory. Italy’s Federico Francia finished in third pace with the 14-year-old BWP gelding Willem vh Janshof (by Flamenco de S). Full results
