The Belgians fight back themselves back into the competition, from place 15 to 8!

After the first round from Dirk Demeersman the Belgian supporters let all hopes go. 16 points was too far too much if this wasn’t going to be the results that could be ignored. After the really strong ride of Judy-Ann Melchior with Cha Cha Z everybody had hope again. And after the clear round of Philippe Lejeune everybody went crazy. Philippe insured himself to be in the top 6 and in the end he even made it into position 3 of the individual ranking.
But the team result is also very important and so everybody was looking nervously forward to the round of Jos Lansink with Valentina. In the speed class it didn’t go so well for them but this time everything was perfectly, clear! Belgium went from the 15th place to the 8th place and the difference with the other countries is so small. Germany is leading with 17,80 points, Brazil (18,49), United States (18,69), Canada (18,93), France (20,32), Saoudi-Arabie (21,48), Australia (21,87) and Belgium (22,70) points. In the individual ranking Khaled Al Eid is leading. It’s not a surprise because he has for sure one of the best horses, Presley Boy (Concorde x Damiro). They have 2,1 points. Rodrigo Pessoa is in 2nd position with 2,8 points and Philippe Lejeune and Vigo D’Arsouilles the 3rd place with 3,11 points.
On Wednesday evening we have the 2nd round of the Nations Cup. We’re all hoping to get into the top 5 with the Belgian team. The best 25 individual riders can come back into the ring on Friday. In the end the best 4 riders can come back on Saturday for the horse challenge. It would be great if Philippe Lejeune can be one of them.
Supporters he has enough, not only the owners of Vigo are there (Katia, Karline and Christophe De Brabander) but also the father of Philippe, Pierre Lejeune flew to Kentucky. He showed us all yesterday that he can really take care of himself. When he arrived yesterday he wanted to go and visit the hotel were the riders are staying to see his son Philippe. He called a taxi but he had to wait far too long for it to come. He saw the pizza delivery boy passing by and decided to stop him and ask him for a lift. That would cost him 15 dollars. All okay but the boy didn’t tell him that they had to stop still several times to deliver some more pizza… anyway in the end he made it to the hotel that’s to most important thing.

We really enjoyed some top sport today and saw some really good horses and sometimes some nice surprises.
