That's for sure an important quality to give to his descendants.
Catalano is a very competitive horse. He is the winner of the special competition for approved stallions of 6 years old, after 4 qualificiations and the final.
At the age of 7 years, he jumps already 1.50m classes, with success. The Italian rider Natale Chiaudani was looking for a good horse for the future, and he found that horse in Catalano. He moved to Italy in November 2009.
His Sire Cassini I started his carreer with Bo Kristoffersen. The big successes from Cassini I were achieved with rider Franke Sloothaak.
Cassini I has been a top performer. Two of his most famous sons are the World Champion Cumano (Jos Lansink) and Eurocommerce Berlin (Wim Schröder).
His Dam Great Hope has been a very promising sporthorse. There is still hope for her as a breeding mare, but unfortunately she had a fracture of the shoulder at the age of 6 years. That was her end of carreer as a sporthorse.
Her Sire is the black stallion Grannox. Grannox is a perfect example of consolitaded performance breeding.
In the first five generations of his pedigree he onlie carries Hanoverian/Westphalian Top Sires.
His Sire Grannus is still one of the leading Sires of Showjumpers in Europe. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, he was represented by 3 showjumpers. His son Top Gun (Jan Tops) won the team Gold medal for the Netherlands, and was placed 5th in the individual Competition.
