Our gelding Wrangler has been tried already more than 50 times by possible clients. He jumps everything, he's top careful, but sometimes you can think, he's difficult to keep him. He really likes to go fast.
Our oldest son Marnick Spits, 12 years old, never jumped with a horse in his life. He could try this weekend with Don G and Wrangler vd Withoeve. When we have seen it this weekend, we are so happy that nobody else has bought Wrangler before, and that he's still in our stable.
Both Don G and Wrangler did exactly what we hoped they would do. On Saturday, Marnick was clear with Don G and Wrangler, without taking any risks. He ended up on a 8th and 10th place on 40 participants. For a first time, not bad at all.
On Sunday evening, we asked Marnick to stay calme till fence number 9. After that fence, there was the second fence on time. We know from his poneys, that he just want to go really fast in a jump off, but this time we preferred that he would keep it safe. So we said that he could go a little faster in the jump off.
With Don G, he was already turning on the fence number 9, and so he made his fault.. He could'nt go to the jump off.
With Wrangler, he stayed nice and clear, and after fence number 9, he started to go so fast. We were really happy that Wrangler was thinking him self, and did a wonderful job. He won the class. More important than winning, is that it seemed to be OK and easy.
For the first time with the horses, he's not big at all, but it gives courage.
Next week, we have got the Belgian Championships children.
Our nephew Jeroen De Winter is ready to go. He has got a chance on a nice result with Uletta vd Dwerse Hagen and Mozart. Our son Marncik will also go to Nieuwpoort, to jump this championship. For him, it can be a nice experience.
