Maurice Van Roosbroeck and Dylano, winners of the Grand Prix in Wieze!

There is no doubt. Maurice Roosbroeck and Dylano were really the best combination in Wieze. Winner of the first big class on Thursday, 4th on Friday, and most important, winner of the Grand Prix! Well done by this son of Cento Lano!
Patrick can also be satisfied about the weekend. With the second place of Va-Vite in the small Grand Prix on Saturday, he earned a lot of euro's and FEI ranking points. Quick Laura Renwick was 30 hundredths of a second quicker and the 17th international victory with her Roller Coaster was a fact. Our Whitney has also done a fantastic job. A seventh place on Thursday, a sixth place in the FEI ranking class on Friday. Her time in the jump would be good enough for second place, but one fault.. Still very satisfied with her comeback. She jumped also the Grand Prix. The result was not there yet with 12 points, but the feeling for Patrick was good. She has got to get used to this level again, we have got to stay calm, and the results will come for sure.

When we arrived this year in Wieze, we have seen immediately the course designer Marc Vygh. He reminded us at something, quite funny. He said that this year he had 20 new meters, to be sure. And then we go back in time. A year ago to be precise, in the Oktoberhallen in Wieze. The ground was not optimal, and Patrik thought to have found the solution. They were eating, just next to the course designers. Their meter, which they use to build the course, was put aside. Patrick was able to get that, and with his knife he managed to cut off a peace on both sides, and then put back into place ... With that meter they had constructed the next class. Suddenly there were a lot of clear rounds! Honest as they are, they offered those two pieces of the meter by an innocent hand to the course designer. He looked indignant, but could soon see the humor. Afterwards it was again high enough!
This year was quite difficult, and there were lots of faults. Patrik played the game like it should, without other plans. He just tried to do his best in the classes. That has paid off! He comes slowly to the years of "intelligency". Maybe that's because this week he's getting 40? He can easily remain a few years at a high level in the jumping sport. He can take as an example the Belgian Champion Maurice Van Roosbroeck, and world champion Philippe Lejeune, both aged 50. Philippe Lejeune was jumping this weekend in Stuttgart.
