Valence DH Z, daughter of Va-Vite, retrieves the 10 on 10 clear rounds, and wins the cycle of young horses!

On Saturday there was an important moment for the 5-year-old Valence DH Z, daughter of Va-Vite. It was her 10th participation in the cycle of the 5-year-old horses, and the previous 9 courses she was already clear. Together with Thomas De Wit she did it again yesterday without any faults, and this way they obtained the title of ex aequo winner of the cycle!
Therefor this would normally mean a participation in the World Championships in Lanaken, so good news!

Other good news came from Pottes where our nephew Jeroen De Winter could finish his second course in the Belgian Championship juniors with only 1 fault. This means he is qualified for the final on Sunday. Only 2 combinations managed to remain double clear. So it will be very exciting in Pottes on Sunday with the finals in the Belgian Championship Juniors and Young Riders. The final of the juniors starts around 13h.

Patrik also brought good news from the French Vichy. Va-Vite was well in shape this weekend with faultless rounds on Friday and Sunday. Friday, his time was good for 4th place. On Saturday, a bit of bad luck in the small Grand Prix with Va-Vite, and 1 down... The victory was for Belgium, with Rik Hemeryck and Cantho.
Whitney did great in the 6-bar competition. She cleared the vertical of 2.05m. This way, 4 combinations achieved the 5th round. Patrik decided not to start Whitney anymore, and save her for Sunday. He was more than satisfied with the 4th place.
We hope Whitney can maintain this form... She will soon start in the Grand Prix of Vichy.

The Belgian riders certainly have not done badly in the Nations Cup of Falsterbo on Friday. Unfortunately all had some faults, which weighted heavy on the result. Despite a good performance, they only achieved a 6th place, with some important points. Unfortunately Belgium moves down in the ranking, but it certainly is not lost. It remains an exciting competition in the Top Level series. This afternoon the Grand Prix jumping is programmed in Falsterbo; results via the link.
