Exciting chamionships with the youth; Jos Verlooy champion Juniors

A bar often makes a world of difference, definitely on a Championship.
In the 2nd round of the final of the Junior Championships, Jos knew what he had to do when he went in the course. He stood on 2 points, but was closely followed by Michael Van Den Bosch and Liesje Vanderwegen, which also were doing fine. Liesje and Michael were on 4 points and had any way to go in again for a barrage. Cyril Cools was on 5 points. At the slightest error of Jos, he would end ex eaquo 4th with 6 points, along with Laurens Houben and Chloë Vranken. But he could keep his nerves well under control, and the title and the gold was for him with Domino. In a barrage of silver and bronze, Michael Van Den Bosch putted the pressure on Liesje Vanderwegen by a perfect barrage. Liesje made a fault, but should certainly look back satisfied on a more than successful Championship, and the bronze medal. Our nephew Jeroen De Winter did with Daskia two good rounds. He got 1 fault in the first course. With 2 errors in the 2nd course, they came on a 16th place. Daskia has not yet much experience at this level, and progression remains possible. Though admirable is that Jeroen has been finalist in every championship he has ridden so far.
He has a few more years to go in the juniors, and has gained a lot of experience again this weekend.
In the young riders there was also a tough course in the final. In the first circulation there came a lot of faults, allowing Gilles Detry with Ceres to advance from a 6th place to the lead. Elionore Lambilliotte and Valerie Van der Poel followed him with more than 4 points. One pole he could afford, but 2 would be too much for Gilles.
Both amazons remained clear in the 2nd manche, and the pressure came on the shoulders of Gilles. He got 2 errors, lost the gold, and got the bronze medal...
He had spared however his best horse for next week, when a team of young riders comes at the start of the Nations Cup in Bratislava, in the framework of the Promotional League. They take it on against a lot of seniors.
Another youngrider participated between a lot of seniors today, and with success. Nicola Philippaerts won the Grand Prize of Falsterbo. Great work!
Patrik and Withney jumped a great round in the Grand Prize of Vichy. They got a fault on the penultimate jump... Really bad luck, but Patrik was super satisfied with the way Withney did her job today. It gives courage for the competition in Beervelde, in 2 weeks. Withney is certainly back at the start there.
