Withney, 7th in the Grand Prix Beervelde! The win is for Trevor Coyle.

Withney had a top weekend in Beervelde. Ok, she has not won the GP. Something she has previously done, but she was ready for it.
In the barrage with 8, everything could happen again. Trevor Coyle rode with Jubilée a super-fast barrage. When Patrik started in penultimate position, he wanted to improve that time.
He found it hard to find the rhythm to the third jump, and there was the first fault ... There came a second one, and so Withney and Patrik were referred to the 7th place. As the last starter, it seemed that Maurice Van Roosbroeck and Calumet still could achieve victory, but his time was slightly slower. And this way the show of Beervelde is finished. We were really satisfied. Withney gave a whole weekend the best of herself. For Va-Vite, there was still a 15th place on Sunday, and Lady Mc Beth finished on Sunday at a 5th place in the 1.35 m course.
Beervelde was super, for the riders and for the spectators. Only Gilles Detry will look back with mixed feelings on this weekend. During the Grand Prix he fell of his horse, with a broken foot as the regrettable result. The injury will be painful in itself, but also his participation in the European Championship Youngriders might be impossible. Very pity, because Gilles was in fine form, and had together with Catwalk Capone he could definitely contribute something to a good result of the Belgian team. This EC is held in August.
So a lot of Championships in August. With the Olympics first, which start on Saturday. The German rider Christian Ahlman starts as fresh daddy, because he just became father of Léon Ahlman. That means, of course, that Judy-Ann Melchior is the proud mummy. Great news and we hope to see small Léon a lot as the Belgian team mascot...
In August, there is also the Belgian Championship for young horses on the program. Some horses are already selected trough the cycle. For horses that don’t have their selection yet, there is still an additional selection in Gesves on July 31 and August 1.
Our horses didn’t participate in the cycle this year, and will try to qualify now.
