CSI***** Mechelen, a preview!
Our nephew Jeroen De Winter was just a year too young ... No selection possible for him for the tests of-25 years.Yet it is for our youth and for Patrik a busy week in Mechelen; an overview.
Wednesday 26/12/12
On Wednesday 26 December we immediately need our supporters! Thanks to a good result on the national tournament are our niece Julie Ceuterick and our son Thibeau selected for the Pony test 80 cm. In this test not only the riders win, but also the public can compete for a price, that of the best supporters.
Julie comes at the start with Kadeeke, our Thibeau takes Saartje.
That day there will be pressure for Thibeau, because he is also selected with Sherlock for the style-final, around 9.45 on the B track.
On the B- piste is Patrik also coming in action on 26/12, Wednesday afternoon he is part of one KBC dream team. For selected pony teams, with a draw is determined which international equestrian will become part of their dream team. A good warm-up, because in the evening Patrik gets something different. Patrik has little fear, and that is also required to participate in the test of strength. Zidane also (Babouche x Major) has no fear when seeing a wall of more than 2 m. In Nieuwpoort they managed a wall of 2.20 m. Curious how it is expired, for its own audience.
Day 2; Thursday 27/12/12
The riders of the 5-star categories make their appearance. Also the Olympic champion Steve Guerdat will be present.
It will have to go to extremely fast, to achieve a price somewhere. Patrik comes immediately with one of his fastest horses at the start, Umosa.
On the A track there is a 1.40 m category, price Nekkerhal, for which he provides Umosa.
In the 1.50 m trial KBC Bank and insurance, Withney will make her appearance.
The Euphony 6-bars test later in the evening is reserved for our 6-bars trial-specialist; Comptesse vd Withoeve. She has achieved excellent results this year, and has already jumped over 2.10 m this year. If they would like to repeat that again..
Day 3; Friday 28/12/12
Our nephew Jeroen De Winter comes for the first time in action. He is selected for the Super final Aveve on the B piste (around 6 pm), with Gretel and Gravina.
There is for Patrik the test Flandria Rent, a table C Speed and Handiness, for our speed horse Umosa.
That is a warm-up for one of the sporting highlights on Jumping Mechelen, the Grand Prix Topsport Vlaanderen. Depending on the form on Thursday, Patrik would start with Withney or Comptesse.
4th day; Saturday 29/12/12
. In the Belgian trial Breds 1.40 m, reserved for the horses that were born in Belgium, Patrik starts with Comptesse vd Withoeve (B-piste, + 12.15 you). Also the approved stallions jump on Saturday. The young stallions are in action on the B-track. Jeroen De Winter is counting on Vondel DH Z (Va-Vite x Darco), for the 5-year-olds. Patrik comes with the 4-year-old Donckervoort in the trial earlier, Poels & co. (about 21.15, B).
Jeroen De Winter is still looking forward to the test Lannoo Feed 1.20 m LRV, a qualification for the finals on Sunday, along with the mare Rhapsody (mother of Va-Vite).
On Saturday Uletta (Cento Lano x Thunder) comes at the start, along with Patrik, in the Flemish Championship (A-piste, 13.15 you).
Day 5, Sunday 30/12/12
There are still some grandchildren Ceulemans who eagerly have been waiting for their participation in Mechelen.
Our cousin Jorgen De Winter may immediately turn in the trial at 8 am, Greenfield Selection Children1.10 horses, with Tommy. In the pilot 1.10 m ponies Children are our son Marnick Spits (Venus) and our cousin Jorich Spits (Galinka) that get our attention.
Than our full attention goes out to the FEI World Cup Jumping Price Land Rover. It is always a whole command, a trial against the limit of the ability, and always very technically built. For the rider it is a great honour to be able to start, and Patrik counts on Withney. She had a particularly good season, in a bit less high courses. She has in her peak years already proved that they can bring to a successful end 1.60 m courses. On her 13th she is still not worn long.
