Witheny was in fine form; good results in Mechelen!

Jumping Mechelen is finished. The organizing committee of Mechelen may look back on a very successful Edition, it was enjoyable.
We have not only enjoyed the atmosphere and top-sport, we have especially enjoyed seeing our own Withney at work.
That she was performing strong on 2-and 3-star-level, was the last months clear. The really high level, such as in Mechelen with the 5-star competitions, is still something else. It was exactly 2 years ago, that she was brought home from Mechelen, because her health was not in order. After a lot of medical problems, including a tendon injury, we had also never dared to hope that she would fight back to this level.
In the GP she got one fault. In the World Cup they had the misfortune that they had to go in quit early. Patrik felt a super jumping Withney. In hindsight he would have driven to the triple combination otherwise, and maybe the fault there could have been avoided.
In any case, Withney gave us great satisfaction. With 2 faults in such a heavy course, is certainly no disgrace.
Jumping Mechelen is not just about the World Cup. There are also plenty of fine secondary tests.
On Saturday night jumped the young stallions in Mechelen. Our 4-year-old Stallion Donckervoort (Withaker x Carlino) made a good turn, with a double flawless circulation and the third place. Our nephew Jeroen De Winter did a fine ride with Vondel DH Z (Va-Vite x Darco), also double clear. His time was good for 5th place. On an ex eaquo third place in the 5-year-olds we saw Can Remember (Diamant de Semilly, ex-auction 2011) under the saddle of Vincent Lambrecht.
All our thanks and respect for the organization of Jumping Mechelen. Within exactly 3 months there is at our place the first international CSI *** St-Katelijne-Waver, in combination with the auction. Previously a modest organization, compared to Mechelen, but anyway. A particular challenge for us, a big effort, which we love to do for the sport.
We wish everyone good luck and good health in 2013!
