Va-Vite, the big surprise of the evening: winner of the Masters LRV.

Yesterday the last (regional) indoor LRV- event for the region of Mechelen took place. It appears to have become a tradition that this event is organised in our riding hall. The “masters” competition afterwards is also part of the tradition.
There are a lot of good riders in the region and the audience really appreciated their excellent performance. Last year Willy De Beck won the masters event. Kris Van Steen managed to win the event a couple of times before. Both riders were present yesterday.
Patrik was not travelling abroad and decided to give it a try.
He rode Va-Vite, a rather young horse that does not have a lot of experience with high jumps.
Still Va-Vite managed to surprise both the audience and his rider yesterday. The higher the bars, the better he started to jump.
When Patrik entered the ring with Va-Vite in the last round, he already knew he had won, but he still finished this round to please the audience. For the last jump, he even added a little extra: he let go of the reins and put both hands in the air. 0 faults! Quite a crazy thing to do, but he was so excited because Va-Vite made it all look so simple. It’s a pity we do not have any pictures of this extraordinary event!
Needless to say that the owner was extremely happy. Kris Van Steen finished in 2nd place, Tom Mortelmans in third place.
