Jumping Mechelen; a satisfied look back... Thibeau wins Youth Cup and BRP!

The 5 days Jumping Mechelen are behind us, those 5 days flew by. We can look back with satisfaction.

During the 6-bars, our 7-year-old Hermes Du Ri d'Asse (Argentinus x Grannus) jumped incredible. He is still relatively inexperienced, and after the 2nd round, the last jump was already well over 1.80 m, Patrik decided to withdraw from the contest. We will try to build him quietly to the outdoor season, and then he can also occasionally participate in a GP CSI **. We live on good hopes!

Who also don't need to worry, is our nephew Jeroen De Winter. Sad and unbelievable that he just always had to deal with that one fault in Mechelen... His mare Gretel jumped however super, he looks forward onto a promising outdoor season.

Our son, Thibeau Spits, had the best week in Mechelen. He placed himself for the super-finals of the Youth-cups on the last day, which he won with his pony-stallion Hightrick. Also the class for the best going riding pony, he won. Very impressive top-riders such as Pénélope Leprevost, Gregory Wathelet, Wout-Jan Van der Schans and Marc Van Dijck made time to judge these youthful combinations. The whole news article can be found on the website of VLP and LRV , driving forces behind this youth-cup.

We have enjoyed seeing the top athletes involved, especially in the World Cup. Joe Clee was the man to beat up to the last moment. He rode a super jump-off with Utamaro d' Ecaussines, owned by Ludwig Criel. We had our fingers crossed for our good friend, but Simon Delestre knew to improve Joe's time and won the World Cup in great style. We have seen beautiful sport w, and we thank the organization of Jumping Mechelen!
